Thare are five main types of hindustani singing
It thery are :
1.Khyal singing style
2.Dhrupad singing style
3.Dhamar singing style
4.Tarana singing style
5.Ghazal singing style
Khyal singing style
Khyal songs are songs that are sung according to the rules of the ragas and sung in different melodies with different melodies. These are also known as melodies rhythm songs. A very short song genre. There are many khyal songs composed on the rhythms of tri thal, jap and ek. The percussion instrument used here is the tabla. Khyal is divided into tow main parts as chota khyal bada khyal. Bimsen joshi and pandit jasraj are telented famous khyal singers.
Dhurpad singing style
The oldest style of singing in north india. This style was popularized by the scholer sarangadeva. Sings using all three saptha. A ra ther difficult singing style. Chou rhythm is used for dhrupad songs. The main percussion instrument is thefakwaja dhrupad siger are known by the unique name of kalawantha.
Dhamar singing style
A style of singing similar to that of dhrupad. The dhamar rhythm is used for this fakwaja. Is tha main percussion instrument. These songs are about gods like radha and krishna and praise of the seasons.
Tarana singing style
One of the leading singing style in North Indian music .There is no sense of meaning in the singing style . Many of these songs are based on the Tintal. The percussion instrument used is the tabla. This style of singing was created by Aamir Krushru. Amir Khan Tharana is a talented singer .
Ghazal singing style
It is one of the oldest singing styles dating back to the Mogal era. These are created with simple raga rhythms. A type of song related to love. Created by Amir Krushru.
