Water is the lifeblood of not only humans but also of plants and animals. Water is the primary requirement for all activities, from quenching thirst.
Although there are plenty of opportunities to get water, there is only a small amount of clean drinking water available.
We Sri Lankans do not understand the value of clean water and its value because there is not yet an unbearable shortage of water.Nowadays, no one is looking at how much water pollution is caused by the addition of pesticides, chemicals, etc. to the water. As a result, an increase in the number of patients with kidney infections can be identified. That is a sad fact.
There are so many poor people in the world who drink dirty water without a drop of clean water to drink. But in a country like Sri Lanka, people have not yet faced such a bitter experience. But if water pollution and water wastage continue, Sri Lanka will soon face a similar fate.It is a good idea to use water sparingly.Although water can be obtained from rain and rivers, very little can be consumed.
Although Sri Lanka is surrounded by oceans, the water is not available for daily consumption.Pure drinking water is an inexhaustible resource. Pure water is a gift from nature to man.Water helps in many ways until we wake up in the morning and go back to sleep at night.Fresh clean water is declining in the world due to the increase in waste and pollution.
Kings in the past were well aware of the value of water. So they collected water and created great tanks.
Even today farmers in the dry zone carry out all their cultivation activities using this irrigation technology.
But the rulers of today are less likely to do such things. It is true that technology advances with the development of the world .But with that advancement comes the need to conserve valuable resources.
Everyone should be made aware of water conservation .Social media can be easily used for this.Or they will soon face a water shortage. It is our duty to preserve water not only for ourselves but also for future generations. 💧💧💧💧💧💧💧💧💧
Thank you.
